The DACMA Brasil Limitada is founded and the CNPJ was duly issued on January 26th.
This is a big step for us to start the second project in Brazil together with SENAI CIMATEC in 2024 to build a Direct Air Capture System (DAC) – BLANCAIR – with a capacity of 5,000 tons per year in Salvador de Bahia. The feasibility study will be completed in 2024 and the project can start with our Brazilian DAC company.
In July our DAC.SI project with Repsol Sinopec Brasil and PUCRS (Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul) we will put the first 300 tonne/year plant into operation in Porte Alegro. This BLANCAIR system was built in Hamburg and will be delivered next month.
New projects in South America are being negotiated.
Our customer PUCRS – Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul and our partner REPSOL SINOPEC BRAZIL have visited DACMA GmbH in Hamburg. A 60 tonnes/year unit was successfully demonstrated in process. Furthermore, the manufacturing line of our BLANCAIR units were inspected at our growing assembly line.
In the next upcoming month, 5 BLANCAIR Units will we delivered to Porto Alegre to build up the first 300 TA system in Brazil.
An exciting step towards pioneering solutions for Brazil’s future.
On November 21, we welcomed the TES team from Tree Energy Solutions, who took a look at our BLANCAIR technology. We discussed a partnership for future projects in Belgium and the United States in the field of methanation. The green hydrogen from TES is produced together with the CO2 from BLANCAIR as e-NG.
Tree Energy Solutions (TES) is a green and clean hydrogen company supplying long term non-intermittent carbon neutral energy on demand at industrial scale.
DACMA GmbH develops and produces highly innovative BLANCAIR machines that separate carbon dioxide from the ambient air – Direct Air Capture (DAC). The adsorption material is interchangeable to further increase performance and BLANCAIR is developed for large-scale use.
In December 2022, DACMA GmbH (DACMA) has launched a first DAC project in Brazil to capture 300 tons of carbon per year to demonstrate the viability of DAC technology. As part of this project, DACMA will provide solid capture technology to be demonstrated at PUCRS – Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. The prototype of this technology, called BLANCAIR, has already been delivered to Porto Alegre, as part of a R&D program to develop next generation adsorbents. Another DAC project in Brazil, has been launched in Salvador, state of Bahia with a feasibility study for 5,000 tons of carbon per year for permanent storage in basalt geological mineralization under the rainforest. The commissioning of this next scaling level of BLANCAIR technology is planned for 2026/2027.
DACMA is also planning several other projects for the storage and methanation of CO2 from DAC and is eager to show that that BLANCAIR technology is suitable for various applications and climate regions and thus globally applicable.
October 24, 2023, the Spanish company Repsol Energy Venture S.A. has become DACMA’s new shareholder.
With this partnership between REPSOL and DACMA, we are embarking on a shared journey to achieve the ambitious climate goals for 2050.
Blancair is taking a significant step towards entering the market in Brazil. We are proud to deliver our first prototype to Brazil. This exciting development will not only strengthen our presence in the region, but also help drive global innovation for Direct Air Capture (DAC). Stay tuned to find out more!
Hamburg, 2023 September 5th – BLANCAIR is delighted to announce the successful testing of its first Direct Air Capture (DAC) prototype, developed by DACMa GmbH in Hamburg. This prototype, designed to combat climate change, can capture 15 tons of CO2 annually from ambient air.
Scheduled for commissioning in Brazil at Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) in December 2023, this system will play a vital role in underground CO2 storage.
Moreover, BLANCAIR is poised to expand its impact further, with a next-gen system a 300-ton per year capacity set to be commissioned in Porto Alegre in July 2024.
BLANCAIR remains dedicated to pioneering carbon capture solutions, taking proactive steps in addressing global carbon emissions.
